Did you know that Florida has many topics that are mandated to be taught K-12, such as Founders Month, Patriot Day, the Holocaust, Medal of Honor Day, and Financial Literacy Month? Many teachers don’t know all the mandates or don’t know how to teach them at their grade level. After all, we would teach about the Holocaust to students in 9-12 much differently than we would teach it to elementary students. How do we ensure ALL students have access to lessons and information? It’s not always embedded in our courses, so we need to provide appropriate lessons on a school-wide basis, so everyone has an opportunity to attend. Come learn how I teach mandated topics to all grade levels and keep students engaged, while they learn. Students of all ages often surprise me with their insightful responses and shared stories.

In addition, we will discuss how to support students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and apraxia of speech with appropriate accommodations, as well as some benefits of virtual learning.
Our presentation will be focused on a systematic means to provide educators a daily planner and scoring system to "win the day." This system focuses on the balance and prioritization of essential daily tasks that not only prioritize professional demands, but personal as well, for the sake of improving instruction for our students and the health/well-being of educators.
